Prostate Smooth Muscle Cells

Lifeline® Normal Human Prostate Smooth Muscle Cells (HPrSMC) are Primary Cells directly cultured from their source organ tissue. They have not been modified in any way, which helps avoid altering the outcome of your experiments.

When grown in Lifeline VascuLife® SMC Medium, Primary Prostate Smooth Muscle Cells provide an ideal low-serum (5%) culture model for the study of angiogenesis, atherosclerosis, diabetes or vascular biology.

Lifeline Primary Prostate Smooth Muscle Cells are cryopreserved at the earliest possible passage to ensure the highest viability, purity, and plating efficiency. Our HPrSMC are quality tested in VascuLife SMC Medium and demonstrate optimal low-serum growth over a period of at least 15 population doublings at rates equal to or greater than other serum-supplemented media.

Primary Smooth Muscle Cells are not exposed to antimicrobials or phenol red when cultured in Lifeline VascuLife SMC Medium.

A vial of Gentamicin and Amphotericin B is provided with VascuLife® SMC Medium Complete Kit for your convenience. The use of GA is recommended to inhibit potential fungal or bacterial contamination of eukaryotic cell cultures. Phenol Red may be purchased, but is not required.
