Product Description
Lifeline® Normal Human Primary Cardiac Fibroblasts provide an ideal cell system to establish serum-free human feeder layers for human embryonic stem cell cultures, or as a model to study wound healing, toxicology, or basic cell biology.
Lifeline Primary Cardiac Fibroblasts have been isolated, plated and expanded in culture vessels twice before being harvested for cryopreservation to ensure the highest purity, viability, and plating efficiency.
- Cardiac Fibroblasts are Primary Cells directly cultured from their source organ tissue and have not been modified in any way. This helps avoid altering the outcome of your experiments.
- Your research outcomes will be more representative of the general population: Primary Cardiac Fibroblasts can come from many donors without the accumulated mutations found in immortal cell lines.
Our Primary Fibroblasts are quality tested in FibroLife® S2 Low Serum Fibroblast Medium or FibroLife Xeno-Free Frozen Fibroblast Medium to ensure proper growth and morphology over a period of at least 15 population doublings.
Our Cardiac Fibroblasts are not exposed to antimicrobials or phenol red when cultured in Lifeline FibroLife medium. Lifeline offers antimicrobials and phenol red, but they are not required for eukaryotic cell proliferation. A vial of Gentamicin and Amphotericin B is provided with the purchase of FibroLife S2 Fibroblast Medium Complete Kit for your convenience. The use of GA is recommended to inhibit potential fungal or bacterial contamination of eukaryotic cell cultures. Phenol Red (LS-1009) may be purchased, but is not required.
